Regional Definition of Australia

The Category 2* and Category 3** of the regional definition provide regional incentives for people who want to apply skilled migration. International students who study and live in Table 1 (Category 2) are eligible for an additional year for 485 visa, and international students who study and live in Table 2 (Category 3) are eligible for an additional two years for 485 visa. Also, the instrument applies to Visa 189/190/491/888/892.

The commencement date is 20 January 2021.
